The Amber Necklace

Have you ever seen a yummy little baby with an amber necklace on?

Well, it turns out those teeny pieces of jewelry are more than just good-looking; they’re actually used to help relieve little ones from teething pain!

Amber is as old as time itself, dating back millions of years. And yet, it is still believed in today and used for its healing power for treating joint pain, arthritic ailments, and even teething pain for children.

Amber is the fossilized sap, or solidified tree resin, from prehistoric trees that grew as much as fifty million years ago, primarily in Scandinavia and elsewhere around the Baltic Sea. When warmed by the body’s natural heat, amber releases small amounts of a substance called succinic acid. Succinic acid has been shown to stimulate neural system recovery and bolster the immune system, and help compensate for energy drain in the body and brain, boosting awareness, concentration and reflexes, and reducing stress.

When a person wears amber against their skin, the succinic acid gets absorbed by the body and is thought to relieve pain, reduce inflammation, and provide a general sense of well being.

Baltic amber has been known to reduce acidity in the human body in a totally natural way. It is said, by having your teething baby wear the necklace everyday, it will reduce the common symptoms related to teething such as; redness in the cheeks, swollen gums, diaper rashes and fevers.  Making the necklace a great natural remedy that can eliminate the need for over the counter drugs.

When choosing a necklace for you babe, the lighter the color of amber the more succinic acid it contains. Opt for a length that is short enough babies cannot pull and put into their mouths.

Inspired by Finn has some great youth options. Check them out; what do you have to lose? If nothing else, they’ll look adorable!

Personally, I think new shoes have the same effect on mamas, just sayin…

I have 4 children, 10, 7 1/2, almost 3 and a 4mo old. I just bought my infant an amber necklace and she has been wearing it for about 2 wks. I have noticed a decrease in her symptoms. And as you mentioned she looks SO cute in it!! She still drools more than any of my other kids did (I'm surprised she isn't dehydrated ;-)) I wish I had gotten one for all my kids when they were babies! After seeing how it has affect my littlest one I am very tempted to get one for my almost 3yr old, to see if will help with the overall mood. It couldn't hurt! They very well may turn into my go to baby gift when I know someone having a baby!

That baby is uber cute! I am also a believer in the healing powers of crystal, stones and gems. Indeed amber is renowned in the field of metaphysics to provide a calming, light energy that is both soothing and energizing. It is beneficial for healing of heart problems, bone problems, circulation and many others. I am also told that it is a good luck charm for marriage so I will probably wear one too.
